・Establishment of Fukui University Student Branch (SB)

Student Branch (SB) of Fukui University was established on August 3, 2016.
Now Nagoya Section has three SBs: Shizuoka University SB, Nagoya University SB, and Fukui University SB. We expect that other Student Branches will be established, and we would like to encourage activities of student members.

・IEEE Milestone awards to Yosami Radio Transmitting Station

IEEE Milestone dedication ceremony commemorated the "Yosami Radio Transmitting Station" for the first trans-Eurasion wireless communications in Kariya, Japan.

・IEEE Milestone awards to the achievements on electronic television developed by professor Kenjiro Takayanagi

"Development of Electronic Television, 1924-1941
Professor Kenjiro Takayanagi started his research program in television at
Hamamatsu Technical College(now Shizuoka University) in 1924.
He transmitted an image of the Japanese character イ(i) on a cathode-ray tube
on 25 December 1926 and broadcast video over an electronic television system in 1935.
His work, patents, articles, and teaching helped lay the foundation for the rise of Japanese television and
related industries to global leadership."
